Benefits of a Health Program for Employers and Employees

An unhealthy workforce negatively affects an employer’s bottom line through lost productivity and higher health premiums, just to name a few ways.

Realizing this, more and more workplaces are looking at wellness programs and health promotion incentives.HappyStaff

Companies that implement a wellness program at work will achieve many benefits such as increased staff moral, increased productivity and reduced health care costs. Productivity also relates to an employee’s ability to work for longer periods of time and effectively concentrate on their work.

Reports have shown that a healthy workforce will lead to reduced absenteeism and lost time, and can also positively effect employee turnover.

The bottom line of such programs is this: healthy employees tend to be happier and more productive employees.

These programs can range from simply offering information to workers relating to fitness and nutrition, to subsidized healthy lunches, fitness education and or subsidized gym memberships. There are many options available, and the benefits will far outweigh the costs.

Employees are the most valuable assets to any company.

I would imagine that if a company has a good healthy program that the workers would be happier, and work better. I have heard about businesses that have a wellness program to keep the workers healthy, and they seem to stay longer in that business. I wonder how fun these are, I think someone like myself would be involved if they made it fun.
